Initiative: I had a client who was planning her wedding outside
at her parent's estate. Neither the caterer nor the event rental company had
floor design software. The caterer was very particular about having a floor
plan, so a lot of those details fell on Your Dream Day.
Venue allowed us the means to create a custom plan for the entire event. We
measured the outdoor site, took photos and made a note of all landmarks and
converted those into a to-scale drawing that all of the vendors could utilize.
In doing so, we discovered a month before the wedding that the rentals the
rental company had proposed would not accommodate her guests. We discovered that
the recommendations of another client, who should have been an expert in the
field, simply weren't That made Your Dream Day look like a hero that saved the
day and potential disaster.
Results: In this case, we were able to draw everything to
scale to demonstrate to the client how her vision could come to life (and how it
wasn't going to work with her current plan of action!) We were able to
communicate to the client with absolute certainty that the recommendations the
expert vendor had made simply wouldn't work. We had a major increase in our
credibility with the client, not to mention the client not having to spend
additional money on unnecessary items and last minute changes. We came up with a
plan that not only made the event work well, but looked extremely professional
to the caterer who didn't have that type of resource.
QE and their staff were wonderful -- they helped us create the floor plan based
on the specs we provided to them. Even the bride said afterwards, "There has
never been such a flood of compliments after an event. Thank you for creating
the "Wow" I was hoping for! I can't wait for our next event together!"
